Another. Marc Elias Win In Pennsylvania :

🚨BREAKING: Pennsylvania Supreme Court DENIES Republican Party application to consider case to prohibit county boards from implementing notice-and-cure procedures for mail-in ballots.

A big loss for the RNC and its war on mail-in voting.

3. Great news cuz the way the GOP intends to 'win' is by only counting the votes they want to count.

I expect to have my ballot pulled and need to be 'cured' as I am old and arthritic in the extreme. My signature never looks the same twice and doesn't look anything like it did when I registered to vote. I predict a lot of us Olds will have that issur come up. Especially if we live in counties dominated by GOP office holders.

If the U.S. ever decides to create a federal department dedicated to persuing justice doing investigations and such, we should consider hiring Marc Elias for the job of being a generalized lawyer in charge of it.

I hope we can tweak election laws to make it easier to vote. Paper ballots for everybody and ranked
choice voting in every State to eliminate 3rd party spoilers would be great.

We could use computer hackers as the reason for needing a 50 State solution.

10. So, what is notice and cure? (explained)

I had to look it up.

A great explanation from the League of Women Voters' website:

So, what does notice and cure mean?

Simply put, notice and cure is a process where the state notifies a voter of an issue with their mail-in ballot and provides the voter with an opportunity to fix or “cure” that issue so that the voter’s ballot will be counted.

The bulk of these issues are often small errors with either a missing signature or a signature that does not match the one on record. Normally, a local election clerk’s office will notify the voter by phone, email, or through the mail then will provide the voter with the process and time frame for the error to be fixed. The remedies required for curing a ballot vary from state to state and can include showing up at a location and showing your ID or emailing a copy of your ID to the election office.

Currently, there are eighteen states that have election laws requiring a voter to be notified if there is a mistake with the signature on their ballot and provides them with an opportunity to fix it. Due to the pandemic, other states have adopted changes to their election policies that will be in effect for the 2020 election.
