And, yes, it's true that in many rural areas people eat small game like squirrels, possums, etc. There's an annual raccoon eating festival near my hometown.

Unless that's a misspelling for "pest."
(I like squirrels. Then again, I don't like squirrel--the whole "cud" and "cloven hoof" thing's in the way. Still, they raid bird feeders and can do bad things to wiring and such.)
