The family business that owns the Kansas City Chiefs is one of the biggest funders of a political action committee opposing a proposed amendment to overturn Missouris abortion ban.
Unity Hunt, the business that controls the assets of the late Lamar Hunt, including the Chiefs, in late September donated $300,000 to the Leadership for America PAC. It is currently running ads on several conservative radio stations across the state opposing the abortion-rights amendment, which will appear on the November ballot as Amendment 3.
Leadership for America is an independent spending PAC created in January. Prior to receiving the donation from Unity Hunt, the PAC had $31,159 on hand.

(532 posts)At 7, 8, 9 months pregnant women are picking out baby names and decorating the nursery. They are not changing their minds and aborting healthy, viable babies for kicks. This constant narrative coming from creepy men is insulting and offensive. So tired of it.

(2,323 posts)They've got an ad running that goes "Everyone agrees that a point comes when an abortion can't be had, but this Amendment sets no limits... blah...blah...yadda"
Another refers to "radicals" who passed "sweeping abortion laws" in Michigan and "then engaged in dozens of law suits to force tax payers to pay for abortions" and guarantees the viewer these "radicals" will do the same in Florida.
Then there are the ones where they try to tacitly link Amendment 3(recreational cannabis) with Amendment 4(Abortion) and opine about "smoking weed" while pregnant, with the clear intent of having the viewer link the two together(it never actually mentions either ballot initiative).
Its sick, disgusting and against Florida statutes(these are being run by the State using tax money).

(532 posts)I want them shellshocked like they were after the Kansas voters rejected their crap. I want them humbled and silenced because I'm so very sick of it.

(105,663 posts)not a team franchise decision or opinion. It isn't even the usual rich bastard single owner of a team. That rich bastard is dead and the (mostly family) members of the prior owner in the conglomerate that owns the team now are making these decisions. Just saying...
No one is more pro-Choice than me and pissed as hell at these lying ads, but I am not sure I can look upon the team as the problem--and THAT is coming from someone living in dedicated Broncos country.
