ON EDIT: One post I saw said the parking lot was 2 hours walk away, not 2 miles. That sounds unlikely (6 miles?) but maybe.

Alternatively, if the people going on the first bus (or second because that may be when the severe shortness was observed all agreed to get their cars and drive back to get others to the parking lot it could have ended much faster than all going on the bus.

I suspect that would have started almost naturally on our side. (Not the same thing, but early in our life in VT, we went to a Neil Young concert at the fair grounds. When we left, we figured getting out would be hard and chaotic. The cars were parked in rows on a field. However, the cars pulled into the aisles and at each intersection, naturally went every other side in just like in 4 way stops. Very calm, very orderly.)

Our view of community naturally leads to working together. From the comments, it is interesting that MAGA sees themselves as independent and self sufficient, but here they could not organize their way out of a paper bag. Note they then blamed the major and sheriff, not the Trump campaign and its organizers.

If a couple people hitched a ride and each came back with their cars and hauled five people back they would have 12 cars hauling five people two miles after a couple of trips like this in a matter of 30 minutes they could all be back at their cars. Pretty sure the Dems could auger themselves out of there with little trouble. Why can’t these people help themselves?
