he realized was necessary. trump, after the Bidne/trump debate was on a gliude path to win the election.

It was necessary. You can't be serious still griping about it.

VP Harris has done a flawless job and now we have a chance to win. We didn't if Joe had stayed in.

The majority of Dems asked for him to step down! People here on DU weren’t seeing it because we were suspended for not following the rule of rallying around the candidate. I had forgotten that rule and didn’t see the warnings, so was suspended before I realized I had been warned. Then we were brought back after Biden stepped down. Carville played a small part in it in my opinion. Donors, Clooney, Pelosi and other big players played big parts.

want to see him step down. And, further - were somewhat discomfited (perhaps more like anguished?) at the perceived brow beating and hammering he sustained in certain sectors - in an effort to effect that outcome ... I didn't see anything like 'majorities' lining up for the "dump Biden" parade.

Your mileage may vary ... But I recall it playing out quite differently from the 'everybody wanted' scenario.

traveling to Europe twice and then across the country to California to the debate with no chance to rest. Talk about being jet lagged and the re-lagged.

The people on his team didn't look after him properly.

I felt horrible for him and how he was blasted by Mara Gay of the NYT on "Morning Joe", but Joe Biden made the right decision after all, and part of it was backing VP Harris to take over and not having a mini nominating convention that would've caused major contention and
taken days.

Joe Biden, wise man that he is, saved us from that.

a wise, courageous, and utterly selfless act in service of his country. And in the process he was treated absolutely shamefully by many people sharing our own brand.

The debate performance was not good (and probably legitimately concerning to bunch of folks) - - but held up against the absolute mind blowing crap that Trump is shoveling out every day? The Democrats weren't capable of selling that point? Our guy is just miles worse than that? Sheesh!

There was NO push to dump Biden until the after the debate, with Carville on national television threatening to go to donors because he was "worried" that we would lose. Lately he has been yapping against Harris. He didn't want Harris, either. He wanted somebody like Mark Warner or that Mitch Landrieu character, neither of whom could win nationally.

I am not going to let people try and claim otherwise. Carville did it and made good on his promise to go to donors.

He is a backstabber and has no business having a forum or even calling himself a Democrat. He is nothing of the kind. His credibility is shot.

Carville may rub some people the wrong way (hell, for that matter, so do I) but on THIS, and what Trump and his MAGA'S will do (not might) to the Constitution, to Democracy, he's absolutely spot on.

And we might as well know it.

James Carville Warns Of 'Fascist' Ties Between Trump And Nazism: 'Pay Attention' - Huffpost

Trump’s Oct. 27 rally has already been likened to the 1939 event hosted by the German American Bund, a pro-Hitler and Nazi propaganda-spreading group who held a vision for the country that NPR described as a “cocktail of white supremacy, fascist ideology and American patriotism.”

Trump, in an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, called his political foes “the enemy from within” before suggesting that he could round them up using the military.

Carville cited recent comments by Trump’s former national security adviser and retried Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who declared that the “gates of hell” would be unleashed on the Republican nominee’s political foes should the election go to the former president and [Trump is] brought back as “head of a military tribunal.”

“And by the way, if they win, they’re going to correctly say, ‘We told you in the election what we’re going to do and you voted for us, you have greenlighted the whole thing,’” predicted Carville, who suggested that young Black men could be especially targeted in such a military roundup under Trump.

You'd better believe it.
