Solar energy doesn't work at night because it is dark out. 🤦‍♀️🤪🤣

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) speaks against solar energy because “at night, it just doesn’t work.”

Fact-check: Solar energy can be stored in batteries for use at night, ensuring power supply.

3. there are many storage strategies

not just batteries.

pumping water uphill to a lake with electric generation station, lifting heavy objects and recapturing the energy by lowering those objects again, storing compressed air, and using the excess to spin very heavy weights and using the braking energy to generate electricity ( one of my favorites ). Yes, there is significant loss in doing this, but there is loss in many forms of electric generation... for example if you power plant is 100km away from where the energy is needed.

Not to mention that what is known as "base" load can be provided by nuclear or hydroelectric, and peak loads ( which are generally during the day for A/C and human activities like washing drying cooking etc ) can be solar.

Proof by assertion, sometimes informally referred to as proof by repeated assertion, is an informal fallacy in which a proposition is repeatedly restated regardless of contradiction and refutation.

His boss says you'll burn up before you get close to the sun.

Seems at some time in his life he would've heard of solar energy stored on batteries.
