Wow -- this was weird. Trump wrapped up his "town hall" in Oaks, Pennsylvania, after just a few questions, and right after he said he would take a few more questions. More music then played while Trump stood around on stage. Deeply bizarre scenes.

they're now playing an opera version of "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" while Trump continues to bob around on stage. words fail.

Trump takes the mic again. He says he'll take another question, changes his mind, and calls Democrats "evil. They're evil."
He then tells his production crew to play YMCA "nice and loud" and wraps it up. Definitely one of the most bizarre Trump events I can recall.

Trump is now just standing on stage while religious music plays

A few, really very few, changes in words — which also happens in secular settings — and it is very spiritual indeed.

But I agree that neither the songwriter nor his estate would have given permission to Trump the schmuck to use it at his rallies.

The national polls and the battlegrounds are holding steady for Harris. And don't show me what 270 or 538 or RCP or BTRTN says, because they're including the red wave polls.

You're right, it seems really weird because it is. It's a red mirage. Don't buy into it, that's what they're doing this for. Get off mainstream media and go to independent news sources. Listen to Democracy Now.

12 of the 15 polls in one of the last national aggregates were right-wing sponsored. The same thing happened this time (October) in 2022. I wondered why the GOP would try to make the races seem tighter the closer to election day because, to me, it seems that would simply ensure Dems turnout.

Apparently they do this for two reasons: 1) to keep their base from being demoralized and 2) to try and panic Dems into putting money into races that seem tight, but really aren't, and to not spend money in races that are winnable but the (polluted) polls appear to be a lost cause for Dems.

Didn't work in 2022, won't work in 2024.

Based on what's listed on 270towin

The last national poll to show Trump with a lead was a full month ago from AtlasIntel (a right wing pollster which does not have a positive reputation). During the past month only 4 polls (out of 44) even showed the race tied. That includes the recent NBC poll which was of registered voters meaning it probably under states Harris' support.

So, no. Trump is not gaining in the national polls

Without commenting on the reliability of the polls, it is totally fair to say it remains a close race, but the national polling has shown the margins very stable for over a month now.

Yes, the swing state polls have tightened but that can be traced directly to the heavy influx of "red wave" polls since the beginning of October.

My husband and I were just talking about all the Republicans who have not only said they don’t support trump, but are actually saying they are VOTING for Kamala. I asked my husband “Do you ever remember this happening when so many established party members came out for the OPPOSITE party?” It was a serious question because I thought maybe I was just not remembering. But, no, neither of us remember an election like this. (We’re in our 60’s).

I hope that means not just a victory but a landslide for Kamala.

Guns n Roses - Can't find a specific reference to November Rain but they have tried to get him to stop using other songs

In November 2018, after Trump played the band's hit song "Sweet Child o' Mine" during an event, Axl Rose said that he and his band had formally requested that Trump not use their music at his events, and posted on X that "the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venues' blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwriters' consent."

In May 2020, Axl Rose opposed the use of the Guns N' Roses cover of the Paul McCartney and Wings song "Live and Let Die" in a meatpacking plant where Trump refused to take the COVID-19 pandemic precaution of wearing a mask. In response, Rose created shirts with the phrase "Live N’ Let Die With COVID 45", with all proceeds going to the MusiCares charity

Hallelujah - On August 28, 2020, Leonard Cohen's estate issued a statement criticizing Trump's unauthorized use of Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the Republican National Convention. They said they specifically rejected permission for its use, (Now here he played a cover version but Cohen's estate still controls the rights)

Luciano Pavarotti He played Pavarotti's version of Ave Maria
Family members of Italian opera singer Luciano Pavarotti protested the use of his recording of "Nessun Dorma" (which ends with the line "Vincerò! Vincerò!" – "I will win! I will win!&quot at Trump's rallies. Pavarotti's widow and three daughters objected, stating that Trump's views on immigration were incompatible with Pavarotti's efforts as United Nations Messenger of Peace, which had raised large amounts of money for the support of immigrants and refugees.

Nothing Compares to You
The estate of Sinéad O'Connor has asked Donald Trump to stop using her music at his political rallies.

YMCA I posted elsewhere that the Village people have been trying for years to get him to stop playing this.
