AZ-04: Which candidate can deliver change? Kelly Cooper and Greg Stanton clash in TV debate

Republican Kelly Cooper said in a televised debate that incumbent Democrat Greg Stanton has little to show for his six years in office, while Stanton pointed to his and the Democratic Party’s legislative accomplishments and said there was still more to do.

In Monday’s debate, hosted by Arizona PBS, the candidates agreed on the need for change on issues from immigration to the cost of groceries but they clashed repeatedly on who could deliver results for the district and how.

The choice before voters is "whether you want two more years of the same,” Cooper said. “Greg Stanton has supported every bit of what's going on for the last six years, and it's time for something different.”

Polling suggests many voters are concerned about the state of their pocketbooks and trust Republicans more than Democrats on the issue.
