As a nurse, it's distressing to me to see incontinence addressed with 3rd grade jokes as though it were some kind of moral failing or sign of mental incapacity. More of us need to grow up.

W/ the age of tRUMP coming to an end here soon, I will celebrate and the END of the AGE of BULLIES, and I will again, tell these bullies to 'get lost'.

With the end of this horrible Age, peace and quiet will return. The Age of Nerddom returns, and I can play Chess or other games again, peacefully in the Student Lounge with my friends and others (figuratively). All of us can enjoy our quiet talk and discussions again, w/ no bullies in the picture.

As we grow older, our bodies and minds do not necessarily show the signs of increasing age at the same rate. For some, the mind starts to go earlier. For others, various bodily functions start to go haywire while the mind is still sharp and clear. Incontinence can be related to physical decline, mental decline, or both.

All of the diaper-related "humor" about Trump that has proliferated at DU during this election cycle (and the underlying assumption that it's a sign of his mental decline) is very tiresome, and has become even more so as as it has continued to crop up with greater and greater frequency.

I have stayed silent until now, because I felt that complaining would be futile. My reaction to reading your comment is telling me that this issue has been bothering me more than I realized.

I would absolutely LOVE it if no one here ever made another incontinence "joke" about TSF again, but I know better than to hold my breath. Thanks for giving me an opening to air my feelings about this issue.

if it was happening to ourselves or a loved one, we wouldn't like it, and wouldn't joke about it. But, we are using his incontinence as a way to reduce stress. This is the only pRes that I can remember who has inspired people to speculate where they will go if he gets reelected. Some people will truly have to leave the country. And, he keeps upping the ante, with his vile and vicious speeches about executing his enemies--which are US.

So, if jokes about what is apparently a real condition--based on his courtroom appearance which had qualified observers, plus his filmed rally speech--either reduces anxiety about the possibility of his return to destroy our country or convinces people not to vote for him, then so be it. I'd rather joke about incontinence than watch someone get executed.

He deserves it. No one else does. And, we know that. Trump was an international embarrassment without the stigma of incontinence. I don't recall him doing this before, although people have stated that he had this problem before. So, now it's like his "5th Avenue" comment, and he either doesn't care, or is trying to lose. There is something wrong here.

and his incontinence is a consequence of doing so. While anyone else so afflicted deserves consideration, Donald did this to himself and continues the abuse which generates it. Given that he has always demeaned others as an expression of his assumed power over them, as bullies often do, it hardly seems reasonable to grant him an undeserved grace. As a sociopath he would never do the same for anyone else. Rather he would revel in humiliating them.

Trump's word? He lies about every single thing. When he threatens to take away our basic freedoms, our democracy, our healthcare, our care for those in need or those who are part of a minority group, and when he insults everyone who opposes him, I'm not going to worry if my schoolboy humor about him is going to offend anyone.

I'm having a hard time believing that Trump cares what his "handlers" think. He usually just goes ahead and does things anyway. I can believe, however, that he is so mentally compromised at this point that he might be more easily controlled.

It could be all in how the campaign advisors speak to him. They could feed his paranoia by saying that the biased media are in cahoots with Harris so he should avoid "hostile" media and stick with his supporters in order to project a good image.

Remember, his advisors told him what he wanted to hear after the 2020 election and he listened to their hairbrained schemes on overthrowing the election, even though he privately ridiculed some of them.
