If you like musicals and dancing, try to find the movie. Overlooked and underrated, IMO. tanyev 1 hr ago #9

When dancer Sybil Wren (Kay Kendall) pens a memoir about her time in a troupe with two other women, she incurs the wrath of her former peers, Angele Ducros (Taina Elg) and Joy Henderson (Mitzi Gaynor). This leads to a lawsuit, and the presence of Barry Nichols (Gene Kelly), the mastermind behind the troupe, who presents his perspective as accusations of affairs fly between the women. Truth is slowly revealed, helped along by some lively musical numbers.

He was a Machinist's Mate on a Navy supply ship in the south Pacific; he and the ship both survived a kamikaze attack.

We played this movie for him when he was in hospice care in 2006. He couldn't see it, but we're pretty sure he could hear it. He's been gone since soon after we "watched" that movie with him. Great guy and a hero.

R.I.P. Mitzi Gaynor, and thanks for the memories.
