My take on the Fox "interview"

It was not an "interview." Bret Baier's job was to confront her, interrupt her as often as he could and get some gotcha moments Fox could run until election day. His continuing effort to get her to "apologize" for Biden immigration policies was disgusting and certainly not journalism and not something Walter Cronkite, who Keith Olbermann says Baier thinks he is, would have done. If Baier had any respect in the journalism world, he certainly lost it with his abysmal conduct in this trashy program.

That Fox would basically set her up to this debacle and call it an "interview" isn't surprising. Fox is not and has never been a legitimate news outlet and has never practiced journalism. Their history is pockmarked with stains, notably the Dominion lawsuit.

I turned it off halfway through because I was so disgusted. I saw how Kamala answered back. I wish she had been a little more confrontational in the portion I saw, but I give her credit. She tried to be as amiable as possible, probably in respect to Baier's audience. She certainly did much better than he did.

This "interview" was a blazing fraud. Fox always has been and will continue to be trash.

(Note: I'm a journalism grad and worked at a major daily newspaper for 37 years. I loathe Fox with every part of my being. Everyone on DU should recognize that they, not MSNBC, CNN or the New York Times, are your enemy. Real journalism is not cheerleading. It's facts. And sometimes fact aren't what we like to hear.)

1. Harris exposed the whole crappy deal.

They wanted to ball and chain her to a bunch of false bullshit trump campaign lies. Harris doesn't take the bait.
The worst was using that synthetic trump denial of what he has trumpeted for weeks about using the military to round up politicians and protesters.

Now that Harris kicked ass on that shit trump claims that fox won of course.

2. Their so-called "commentators" (more like clowns) would have found a reason to say that anyway.

5. She was magnificent. Any more confrontational would have been "taking the bait".

And no, it wasn't an interview, it was a debate. And she handed him his ass in a pail.

7. While I didn't see the whole thing what I did see was her handling it well.

I agree if she would have been more confrontational she would have taken the bait. I bet BB was disappointed that she didn't start shrieking at him for his gaslighting bullshit. She was superb. She didn't take his bs but she handed him the facts and in just the right tone. But hey, she's had a lot of professional experience dealing with assholes and he was just another one.
