I ask because in Iowa, the rural red areas love any harm they can impose on the blue cities.

I haven't seen anything like that. The small mountain towns hit are the worst off, but there is still not water in much of the city of Asheville, so people drive into the city area or schools where they have potable water trucks and drinking water where you bring your empty containers and fill them up. It's what we used to flush out toilets and clean (not the drinking water). They also have some water in aseptic packaging and MRE, and other areas that have paper goods, diapers, etc.

So every day or every few days, you have to go restock, depending on how many people are in your house, or how many containers you have to fill. It really becomes your job - part of your survival. So disrupting your only way of dealing with your disrupted life is especially frustrating.

I am lucky and got my water back, and I am thankful every day when I drive by the water fill stations that others still have to use.

After the Hurricane came through Greene County, TN our water stopped all together. Then when it finally came back on we had to boil it for weeks. We just got it back last Wednesday, when they lifted the boil water alert.

I had collected rain water in 3 large troughs that I boiled for my 3 very large dog's and 40 chickens. When that ran out, I carried it up from the stream and boiled and strained it for the animals. I drove to the next county over to buy water for myself. You couldn't buy water anywhere near me. It was all sold out.

I could get potable water from the National Guard for free but I didn't have any clean containers to put 20 gallons in. I now save my gallon jugs.

But getting water was a full time job. I was constantly looking to buy the big jugs of water. I routinely had buckets of water by the toilets to be able to flush. The moment I woke up, I was boiling water. It was a full time job.

Then I almost ran out of propane. I can't imagine having to do all that with the roads closed off and traffic jams.

The whole state is doing their utmost to help. FEMA, the military, state resources, and mutual aid from all over the US and Canada.

What the people in WNC don't need is Trump.

His little dog-and-pony show is just causing further disruption, on top of what they've already been contending with. I hope this shit costs him and his party the entire state. The fucking fucker.
