Why I am ordering deep dish pizza to go on election night...

First of all, a good deep dish pizza rocks. And, I just so happen to have an awesome pizza parlor almost exclusively dedicated to deep dish not far from my house. Now, I know what some of you are going to say...thin slice, New York style, yada yada yada. I've lived in Manhattan. I dig a good thin slice. Personally, I either fold my thin slice or stack two slices Saturday Night Fever style - and I don't care if anyone thinks that's wrong. But, facing reality, thin slice is the impoverished, greasy cousin of a nice, solid deep dish. Seriously, anything that requires a paper towel to mop it up with prior to eating it leaves a great deal to be desired from both a culinary and gastrointestinal perspective. All of which points to deep dish being the way to go on election night.

Secondly, I'm not entirely convinced this thing is going the way most of us here want it to go. I'd say all of us. But, some of you posters strike me as a little suspect. But, I digress. The great thing about a deep dish pizza to go is that it comes in a relatively compact box. A thin slice pie comes in one of those big floppy boxes that's one good stumble away from ending up face down on the concrete right before you reach your front door. In contrast, a deep dish box can easily be carried in one hand while driving with the other - careful with the leather and only your shoes belong on your floor mats. Anyhow, my thought is that if these crazy polls are NOT incorrect and the lunatic manages to win, a go bag in one hand and deep dish box in the other and I'm set - except maybe for a trunk full of toilet paper.
