So men are apparently having a sad because they aren't automatically preferred over women anymore.
They need to feel powerful and have been robbed of the power to dominate.
Boo-fucking-hoo.
Women have had to fight, beg, crawl, die, be humiliated, for thousands of years to get where we are.
And now men are choosing fascism because they feel threatened.
What a bunch of babies.
Sorry guys, not feeling sorry for you.
Why can't you just celebrate our successes alongside us?
No, now we don't even get bodily autonomy anymore, because???????
Women have become too powerful, and we've stopped birthing all the babies you want?
Is that it?
I know "not all men", but whatever.
I seldom see images of men fighting for women's rights, and reproductive freedoms, even now.

55% women, 44 % men. If that holds, trump might be toast.

(105,772 posts)Governmental tracking of their sexual behaviors to ensure they don't impregnate someone not their wife and then try to get her an abortion?
NO? Then they need to show the nation's women where it is that THEY are being discriminated against in a manner that makes them unequal and in fact "less than" others based on nothing more than their gender at birth and old white men's obsession with their reproductive potential.

(65,685 posts)women are acceptable to them??????? Plus some men (not all) do feel threatened by strong intelligent women.
Hmm... time to move on.

(673 posts)It's just an explanation of what's happening in the minds of some men.
You can't solve a problem without trying to understand it.
If you interpret any effort to impart understanding of bad attitudes and bad behavior as excusing those attitudes and that behavior, you're shutting out the info needed to try to solve the problem in favor of simply feeling righteously angry, but with no course of action.

(673 posts)Tell me, what do you gain from not hearing explanations of behavior like this?

(27,760 posts)It certainly does not evoke sympathy while women are losing their hard-won freedoms.
It's like listening to someone complain about their stubbed toe while you've just had your leg amputated.

(673 posts)Neither Chris Murphy nor Alex Wagner were whining about anything.
Coventina
(27,760 posts)It certainly seems like a whine when all they are suffering is a demotion from being the center of everything.

(673 posts)...at the people who are simply offering their explanations for bad behavior and bad attitudes.

(24,289 posts)Maybe the further media reaches, the more some people feel "ignored."
As I recall, after 2000, Democrats were admonished to pay more attention to uneducated Southern voters. Al Gore was more "Southern" than GW Bush, but supposedly it was all about how "nobody likes the smartest guy in the room" and comes down to "who voters want to have a beer with."
After 2004, we were told to pay more attention to rural areas. It's not what states they're in, it's all the little enclaves of uneducated, misinformed, deluded voters who believed Saddam Hussein attacked us on 9/11 and John Kerry faked his war wounds.
(I'm glad Obama won in 2008 and 2012, but have opinions about those elections in the broader scheme of things that could seem objectionable.)
After 2016, Democrats were again criticized. Even during the primary elections, we were stressed to pay more attention to all populations. Criticisms came from libertarians, "radical" progressives, supposed "independents," groups who'd been funded to take her down for decades. Afterward of course, Democrats were admonished that we needed to pay more attention to straight, white, male chauvinists and stop all this nonsense about running women or gay candidates!
Okay -- 2020. We ran Joe Biden. He won, and I couldn't be happier with his accomplishments!!
2024... This is 24 years since the Bush/Gore election, and we're back to the pay more attention to straight, white, male chauvinists.
So sick of "paying attention" to whoever feels they didn't get their pony this time.
No. Just NO.

(56,279 posts)But after 50 years (40 for our daughters) with whom the late, great Stan Lee (correctly) called «your fabulous females » I dont feel obligated to join a conflict of this nature. Were for the good side, but we are fortunate enough to be non-combattants.

(57 posts)Dont blame others, its probably you.
And in my 70+ years on this planet, I have noticed that the men that are often put off by the advancement of women are also harboring resentment for the advancement of minorities.

(10,352 posts)And frankly I don't want those fucking pieces of shit in our party to begin with. Those freaks think they're entitled to raping women and basically having a second Mommy. Fuck that I'm not willing to reach out to those freaks.
