When Trump says, in private, that he wishes he was Hitler, and had generals as loyal as (he THINKS) Hitler's generals were; there are ways to flack for that.
1.Deny that he said it.
2.Claim he didn't mean it, and it was taken out of context.
3. Say 'LOOK, a SQUIRREL!'
You can DO any of those things. What you DON'T do, is try to explain why he's RIGHT, Dumbass!

(2,892 posts)but I refuse to believe he is that stupid. He knew exactly what he was doing apologizing for fascism. Even a 10 year old knows Hitler's General's were Nazi's.

Kilmeade is an idiot.

(10,531 posts)But the generals were just average good military type people trying doing right by their leader.
Because everyone knows the only real nazi was Hitler. Only one EVER.
Obviously, Trump can't be faulted for believing THAT...

(2,484 posts)Trump's vocal lunacy has gone so off the rails of reason, there's no margin available to insert a sensible, rational argument. All they can do is follow the Roy Cohn rules: Attack, attack, attack and admit nothing, deny everything.
