(4,780 posts)This self-reflection should have been done a long damn time ago. They've let Trump claim that things were better off 4 years ago. Given him a complete pass on the pandemic. Declined to slice up other Repubs who minimized Jan 6. Failed to mention inflation as a worldwide problem. Failed to highlight recovery from the pandemic. Failed to criticize the rehabilitation of Trump by McCarthy and his buddies. Worst of all, failed to criticize right-wing media.
If both candidates had been treated to the same scrutiny and held to the same standards, Harris would be up something like 70-30 and the only questions would be what kind of records she'd set for an electoral margin for a Democrat, and whether her coattails would give her a majority or a supermajority in both houses.

(11 posts)VP is in a dead heat race with a tyrant who should not have been allowed to run again. The media spent the past few months giving him unchallenged positive press while denigrating Democrats. They wanted chaos and not calm.
