1) A lot of right wing dipshits (Halperin, Prosobiec, Kirk) are coming out insisting that it's false. Wouldn't they do the opposite if it was meant to be a hoax? Something off there.

1a) The usual trolls are spamming the Dem boards saying it's "irresponsible" to even discuss it at this point and even insisting that people delete posts about it. Now, one should not of course assume that these losers have access to the Cheung-Lewandowski circle, but still.

2) The odd timing of the deep fake attacks on Walz. These would have been better timed by the Russians much earlier in the campaign, but for them to show up now, just in front of these rumors. Somethign doesn't feel right about that either.

3) Trump's missing days and cancelations. It was odd that the campaign itself cited exhaustion, if off the record. The axiom with these shitheels is that the truth is always orders of magnitude worse than the excuse.

Ultimately, we all know Trump is a groper and a rapist, and we all know that his uninhibited behaviors are accelerating with his dementia. So, yeah, sure, 99.5% of me agrees with the board that this whole thing is dumb and should be ignored, but there's that gnawing .5%...

We constantly (and correctly) complain about the right doing that all the time, but it's ok when our side does it?

There is no evidence the video exists, the only source says he "was told" there's a video, and the only source appears to be a tad dodgy.

If it's the same story that Halperin is talking about, it's already been shopped around to top-level media organizations and NO ONE is picking it up. That should tell us something. Could they be waiting for confirmation? Of course, but would it kill us to do the same?

And, yet, people are posting it as if it's fact. No problem, right?

There are a zillion things Trump has done where there is actual evidence. Maybe we should stick to those - the Hitler's generals story, for example - has solid sources and has been reported for years - instead of pushing rumors and calling DUers trolls for having the audacity to suggest we wait for real evidence before jumping on the shiny object bandwagon.

You say that you're not even remotely convinced, yet it's a problem to you that other people aren't convinced, either. How convenient for you.

The whole Epstein saga, which is peripherally related to this, was squashed until one fearless Miami reporter stood up. It was said that the people involved were so powerful that one just doesnt mess with them. I think it was a LEO who said that

If you really expect people to just completely ignore the rumor of this tape, and not discuss it, then you seriously have the worst grasp on human nature. I'm sorry, but that is completely unreasonable. And you are wasting your time fighting it. Maybe go outside and take a walk. Get some fresh air.

Not to mention, his 2004 election book showed him for who he was. He said Matt Drudge was the Edward R Morrow of (today). He started the book by praising a smear campaign that had a nearly completely made up story about Kerry have his hair dyed, highlighted, cut etc at a top DC place complete with made up quotes. (The only truth was Kerry did get a routine hair cut.) This was amplified by Drudge. The Kerry campaign and the hair place responded immediately, but the book still referred to the smear as having worked. (I follow the news closely and never heard of this other than in his book.)

Any journalist who sees Matt Drudge as the 2014 Edward R Murrow should never be trusted.
