I just voted. My observation:

We tried to vote Tuesday and went to two different early voting places that were jammed. Parking was even a problem not just what looked like a long wait. In my old age I'm developing hip and back issues and walking from a distant parking spot or standing in a queue for a long time is not something I want to do.

So today we chose a location that was not as close. It's a rec center away from the most frequented parts of our local area. We got there right at opening time and were able to walk in with no waiting. The election workers were all very friendly. I asked the lady who helped me if they had been busy the last couple of days and she said they had been slammed. I'm going to guess that the heavy voting here is a good sign. This is a very blue county and dems will do well here. It would be nice if in the red parts of the state dems there would get off their duffs and overwhelm the righties.

Now that that's done, I can worry about other things like what we're going to have for dinner tonight.

1. I've always found this to be true: "The election workers were all very friendly."

Close to 70% democratic registrations, clerk's office swamped first day of early voting.
Full house Meet n Greet for our Senate and House candidates yesterday. By show of hands looked like 80-90% had already voted..

I’m often nostalgic for in person voting. I was a poll worker for years.
Off to mail my ballot. all 4 pages. 💙

Been here 40 years and a neighbor of mine was an election clerk for many of those.

I miss walking in and hearing, "Hi Nittersing!" and her flipping right to the page with my name for me to sign.

This week I took my (4 page!!) ballot to the drop box. Received. Counted.

6. Exactly! Also a Texas voter; however, in a red area that went 70-30% Republican in 2016 and 2020.

We're lucky they even allow us to vote here, but we did Monday morning with no lines, although I have heard turnout is up, but our population is up, too. I have noticed fewer Trump flags around than in 2020.
