General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI just voted. My observation:
We tried to vote Tuesday and went to two different early voting places that were jammed. Parking was even a problem not just what looked like a long wait. In my old age I'm developing hip and back issues and walking from a distant parking spot or standing in a queue for a long time is not something I want to do.
So today we chose a location that was not as close. It's a rec center away from the most frequented parts of our local area. We got there right at opening time and were able to walk in with no waiting. The election workers were all very friendly. I asked the lady who helped me if they had been busy the last couple of days and she said they had been slammed. I'm going to guess that the heavy voting here is a good sign. This is a very blue county and dems will do well here. It would be nice if in the red parts of the state dems there would get off their duffs and overwhelm the righties.
Now that that's done, I can worry about other things like what we're going to have for dinner tonight.

(6,786 posts)Been here 40 years and a neighbor of mine was an election clerk for many of those.
I miss walking in and hearing, "Hi Nittersing!" and her flipping right to the page with my name for me to sign.
This week I took my (4 page!!) ballot to the drop box. Received. Counted.

(2,455 posts)We're lucky they even allow us to vote here, but we did Monday morning with no lines, although I have heard turnout is up, but our population is up, too. I have noticed fewer Trump flags around than in 2020.
