The LA Times editor has resigned

“I am resigning because I want to make it clear that I am not OK with us being silent,” Garza said. “In dangerous times, honest people need to stand up. This is how I’m standing up.”

I am a former subscriber and lament that this once-fine publication has fallen so far. This is not the year to "proclaim neutrality" when the future of democracy is at stake.
