Not a bad thing, I realize this is mostly the very ardent group of Democratic party supporters. But I would like to gauge the honest feelings of those here who want to participate and just take stock and take a deep breath and see how we are feeling. So, the poll choices.

(2,004 posts)A perfectly capable candidate losing to this clown.
That's when I lost respect for this country.

(224,367 posts)I had dental surgery that day, voted with my face still half numb on my way home. There was good turnout at my polling place, not surprising since our former senator was on the ballot. I had no doubt about the outcome since her opponent was nothing but an offensive blowhard. I fell asleep on the couch watching the returns on TV and woke up at about 3am to see that offensive blowhard standing there with his entire creepy family - I thought I must be having a bad dream. And it's still going on nine years later...

(3,233 posts)final (albeit small) donations to state and local candidates, and I will be offering rides to the polls before work on the 5th. We have voted and our ballots have been received.
The rest is out of our hands.

(121,502 posts)In 2020 I was moderately anxious in the days before the election but I was a complete wreck during the days following it until Biden's win was finally called. I am not looking forward to the next couple of weeks. I think Harris will win but there's bound to be a whole lot of heinous fuckery from Trump and the GOP. It used to be that elections were just intense but not actually terrifying.

Today, I am feeling rather anxious/worried... there is so much at stake.

(5,405 posts)Christiane Amanpour and the segment was about how easy, or the pathways, that they can steal the election. Bailed instead of watching. Am already scared enough and if these are the few last days of relative peace in my old life, then I need to shut out as much angst as possible.

(1,776 posts)Didn't vote because I'm definitely more than just a little anxious - and I still think Harris is going to win.

I am physically ill from the 101% stress accumulated since 2016. I'm down to 84 pounds from the anxiety. Can't take it any longer.
