Someone will have to give trump a shot in the ass for the energy to fight against the Blue wave!

(12,470 posts)And look how low enthusiasm was when Trump did win. Of course Dems were lower in 2016.
But now Democratic enthusiasm is the highest it's ever been.
And yet they claim it's a tight race.

(2,533 posts)The crazy part, McCain was a much better man than this orange pumpkin face. Hell, Romney, too in 2012.
Orange face is the worst candidate of all time!

(25,415 posts)If voters turnout. The election is no longer about persuading people to support Harris, it's about persuading her supporters to go to the polls. If they show up, she wins.

(17,074 posts)So why is early Democratic vote lagging from 4 years ago?
All of this data is all over the map. I remain cautiously optimistic but not reassured.

(17,074 posts)Shouldn't people enthused to be voting be getting out and doing it? There's only a few days left.

(10,057 posts)...I only just mailed my ballot off yesterday, whereas I mailed it off in early October in 2020.
Now that we are no longer in a pandemic, free time isn't as abundant, so it's easier to put it off, but there was no chance in hell I was going to miss out on voting, even if I delayed it a bit this year. I'm sure there are millions of others like me.
Furthermore, since we are no longer in a pandemic, there will probably be more Democrats voting in person since (1) vote-by-mail has been restricted in many states compared to 2020 and (2) people would prefer to return to their usual traditional in-person voting to guarantee their vote is cast and counted, especially with all the DeJoy/USPS issues and now even drop boxes getting set on fire.
If I was able to vote in person this year, I would have preferred to do that.

(6,901 posts)Democratic enthusiasm is 10 points higher than Republican enthusiasm.
We're not seeing that "factored in" to any of the polling data that has come out so far, at least, the real, not fake red poll, data. They're all saying it's about the same. No wonder it looks like a razor thin horse race.

(15,659 posts)Suppose it's rainy on election day. Hell, suppose there's a hurricane or tornado. Who is going to make the effort to show up anyway? The highly motivated, that's who!
