Telling them all the things they are will only comfort them. Don't be naive enough to think they feel like we do about these things. They rally around them.

This is a resounding vote for strongman toxic masculinity; suppression of women, LGBTQ+, and immigrants; and Putin-like governance. I have my immediate family (husband and kids), my mother...and some friends who are decent human beings.

My brothers? Not anymore.

Their wives, not anymore.

In laws? One brother and sister in law and some of the nieces and nephews.

The rest of them? Not interested in being anywhere near them....ever again.

I'm dreading Thanksgiving with my in-laws, especially my brother-in-law. I've already warned my husband to make sure they know full well that if they don't want any drama they need to keep their mouths shut.
