Good riddance, I was already planning to leave for good after the election anyways... May the bridges I burn light the way!
And now after being gone for ten years, I'm back to where it all started!

(57,596 posts)Elmo promised to clean them up but they've increased by a factor of 100 since he took over... I never anticipated that he'd be able to hijack an entire social media platform and make it an extension of the angry orange idiot's Nazi campaign...

(545 posts)It’s much harder to get banned nowadays than it used to be.
I’m on my fourth userid on Twitter. I’ve managed to keep my current one for over two years.
I think they used to be more responsibe to tattletales than they are now.
Once I was banned for commenting on Sarah Huckabee’s weight…multiple times. Another time, I recieved repeated warnings over posting a contrarian opinion based on personal experience regarding a particular COVID topic. Admittedly, I got pissed after a warning, and I kept pushing the envelope. I dont recall specifically what I did, but it had to do with COVID, too.
Now, I dont think tattletales carry as much sway. Also, I think there are fewer people on X who are compelled to police others.

(57,596 posts)was because I thought I had a duty to try to fight the tsunami of disinformation leading up to the election... But as it turns out, Elmo had stacked the deck all along, by throttling liberal accounts and promoting Trumper ones in the algorithm.
The funny part is the day after the election, I instantly lost 1600 followers... That's how many bots were following me.

renders for me if I am looking at a video. None of my email addresses work to log in. Bugs me. I did try and get off it two years ago when Musk bought Twitter. I got out of the forum but not the videos. Maybe they want to be like YouTube and make it hard to block the videos on their site so they can keep market share. I don't like it when I can't control a website and when it controls me. I find that upsetting too.

Sort of like shopping at WalMart. If I want to contribute to Republicans, I'll do so directly.
