Maybe this is a cosmic joke by the Almighty

Or maybe the Alpha-Omega is just sick of our shit, shrugged the infinite shoulders and said, "Fuck it, I'm not going to waste a pebble, let these stupid motherfuckers blow themselves up. I'll start over with turtles and octopi."
