We should not be fooled. Gaetz is the sacrificial lamb for getting recess appointments.

The Senate must stand firm on this. Trump has already shown his no regard to the safety and security of the US by his own dangerous behaviors in the past and his proposed nominations now.

The irony for the QAnon crowd should be palpable but it’s probably not.

Johnson calls a recess for the House. The Senate can either agree to recess as well, which opens the door for recess appointments. Or the Senate can refuse to recess, which opens the door for Trump to invoke Article II, Section 3 and adjourn both houses, opening the door for recess appointments.

What the Senate can do is hold hearings on Trump's nominees even before Trump takes office on January 20, trying to force Gaetz to withdraw his nomination, which is unlikely, or putting heat on Trump not to try a recess appointment.

Not sure folks are getting it. The more outlandish, the more his followers love him. He will appoint whoever wants, regardless of what the Senate or anybody says. Welcome to the dictatorship!

Trump doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself. He didn’t during the campaign and somehow the Republicans still did well 🙄

He’s already nominated 3 members of the House so the GOP majority is going to be even smaller on votes.

A shout to DeSatan to replace Rapey McForehead (actually a Five head) with Lara Trump.
Or can DeSatan appoint himself to the seat?
