question everything

I like the idea of President Biden stepping aside and elevating VP Harris who then can

select a a VP to count the electoral votes on January 6 sparing her a humiliation of announcing her own defeat.

The question is: do these appointments need the Senate approval?

I don’t remember whether Ford and Rockefeller required. But, I suppose, current Senate will, unless Munchin and Sinema decide to be hard assed.

3. Harris doesn't get to select a replacement VP. She could nominate someone but they'd need to be approved

by both houses of Congress. Do you want to give the House the leverage to name a replacement VP?
I think Harris can withstand the "humiliation" you fear just as Pence was able to do so. Or do you think she's too fragile?

6. Okay, Pence was just the Vice Presidential candidate. Still had to announce his own defeat.

Why do you think Harris would be humiliated? Do you think she's that fragile she needs to be protected from doing her constitutional duty?

4. Related discussion. She should be President #47, regardless.

Until Americans in large numbers repudiate racism and misogyny, this could be the last chance in many years.

If she wants to de-certify (Who remembers Mike Pence?) then hang in there.
Otherwise, if she has no such plans, she should be NUMBER 47

7. Geez. Do you really think she would want that? Maybe you should suggest she get a participation trophy.

Giving her the honor of becoming the first woman president by a gimmicky, back door maneuver. Yeah, that's the ticket for her place in history

A president is a president for life.

And when will racism and misogyny stop ruling American politics?

When a blinding light (not a nuclear bomb) flashes before millions on the way to Damascus?

Or maybe a real one when Putin finishes what he started in 2015, except that most people say his nuclear arsenal is useless rust.

So he gets his agents here to do it for him.

I would welcome it - is because it would mean the Magat Party had wasted a shit ton of money on #47 Merchandise!

It’s in the Constitution. VP Harris is not unique, and she will do the job.
