Another WW2 veteran passed

At 99 years…..had a good long life.

Believe he joined in 1943 at age 18, US Navy
Coronado training for “frogmen”, think he did just 1/2 the training,
They shipped him out fast to Pacific

And ??? Also Camp Pendleton,,,, but since that’s Marines,,,not sure how he trained there.
Pendleton base was just established in 1942(?),, maybe he mixed his memory

He fought in Pacific….Battle of Peleliu, etc.

30 year career in the Air Force and also is 99 years old.

2 Navy honor guard for gravesite

And not sure what the Patriot Guard Riders are, but a few were there too.

At end, at talked a bit to one, they’re younger than me,,,
BUT after talking a bit about other WW2 veterans, my uncles, etc,,
And talking about Flying Tigers pre WW2 US involved

Those younger guys never even heard of Flying Tigers before. ☹️🙁
