Recount triggered in Pennsylvania Senate race as McCormick heads to D.C., Casey declines to concede

Sen. Bob Casey is not giving up on retaining his U.S. Senate seat. The three-term Democrat is currently locked in a tight race with Dave McCormick, trailing the Republican by just over 29,000 votes as of 4 p.m. Wednesday. CBS News has not issued a projection in the race.

Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt announced Wednesday afternoon that unofficial results in the race have triggered a statewide recount.

That's because vote totals for McCormick and Casey are within a 0.5% margin, which triggers a statewide recount under state law.

According to the Department of State, Casey received 48.5% of the vote with 3,350,972 votes and McCormick had 48.93% with 3,380,310.

As of right now Casey is only 25,366 votes behind McCormick. I'm actually interested in how many votes will be found that were under reported for Casey in a recount. It also wouldn't surprise me if voter fraud was committed by republicans in Pennsylvania. not because of any conspiracy theory, but based on the fact that they think democrats cheated them out of the last election and like discussing among each other and in public how easy it is to supposedly cheat. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if members of the MAGA moron club were at least trying to cheat based on their false assumptions of how easy they think it is. Add in the fact that they were setting fire to ballot boxes and calling in bomb threats to democratic precincts, and why should we believe that they would simply stop there? Their own behavior in the election at least warrants a closer look and inspection of the legitimacy of the results.
