Will your Thanksgiving be mournful this year? Mine will.

All my family attending are Dems and our host is a Dem who works for a liberal political consulting company in Boston. And we thought it would be such a happy Thanksgiving!

How about yours?

Unless I'm fully engaged in something else--reading, writing, working out--all I can think of is how different, how incrementally better everything would be if Kamala and Tim had won, as they obviously should have. All I can think about is the vile, venal, vicious desecration of the country and the free world that is going on before our eyes, and we are powerless to stop it, short of Civil War II which, as you may know, I have advocated.

Would the world have been a better place if someone had stopped Hitler in 1933 instead of 1945?

Many people still don't seem to realize that Trump can and will do all the cruel, evil things he has said, and then some, because there is no one, no institution to stop him . . . except the US military that is still under the command of President Biden.

The entire country will be taken apart, the free world will be abandoned, and we're supposed to sit here and wring our hands.

We have about 60 days to do something. After that it will be too late. Trump will crush dissent, jail or execute dissidents, and turn over America's secrets to his pals in Russia, Hungary, and North Korea. That's what's at stake, all because too many Americans are ignorant as hell.

and tell them that they voted for someone who 28 women have accused the CF of sexual harassment/abuse/rape

and if they say they're just trying to get a payout I would ask them if they believed Bill Cosby's numerous accusers

and then I would say he was also found guilty of sexual assault in a New York Court of sexual assault and you voted for him

and if they say Carroll too was trying to get money from him I would say "how long are you going to keep bs-ing, given that these are his words: "I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. And when you are a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything" I would say to them: Isn't that the mindset of a serial abuser?

Then I would finish with "What happened to your conscience?"

Thanksgiving is only close family,,, so will be just a nice fine quiet relaxed day
Not too much in excessive food consumption, but ‘grazing all day’ tidbits 😉

Some small tasty treats that usually never indulge in.

Cinnamon Walnut coffee cake w my morning cup of hot bean juice ☕️

Stuffed mushrooms appetizer

Apple pie
Pumpkin pie

Smoked Salmon, cream cheese

Likely baked fish as main course
Maybe meatball appetizer too
Cranberry sauce, homemade of course (it’s so simple to make)

Pinot Noir, not too pricey

Not any Republicans,,,, cuz I long ago distanced from any related assholes,
Life is too damn short to share my house and Thanksgiving with rapist supporters

I never really cared much for turkey…

Eating Leftovers the next day or two, is what makes Thanksgiving worth the effort.

LOVE mashed potatoes and giblet gravy.
Stuffing, but only the type I cook, raisins sausage sage etc oysters sometimes

I usually only enjoy some slices of turkey,,, the next day

Just leave out any thoughts of the orange shitgibbon

Both sides. My husband and I will celebrate our 48th Thanksgiving together. Just us and 2 old weiner dogs.

My husband is over the moon - no catering to other people. Kids don’t know yet. 😉

My advice? Does your town host a Thanksgiving feast? Volunteer and attend. We’ve done this twice and both times were great! Get something you love to eat - ummm a ribeye? Watch an old movie or football in your jammies.

God bless!

will not revolve around politics. Nobody should care who you voted for at a family gathering.
And as much as I am unhappy with the final results, I am thankful that the power of picking leadership is still in the hands of the people. I am an American who believes in America, and I will not abandon it just because I didn't get my way this time.

New Years, or any other holidays other than the 4th of July. For me, most holidays are made-up to celebrate something that has little basis in historical fact or significance. Holidays have lost their meaning and now it's just a reason for businesses to have sales. Having been stationed in England and Germany in the 80s and 90s, I like the idea of a Bank Holiday which is just a term used for the country to have a holiday. No reason to celebrate, just a day off.

I will never share a meal with a Trumper.

I'll be delivering 4 full meals for each of 4 families on Thanksgiving morning.
Delivering pies at a couple location the Tuesday before for their fundraiser.

All for MANNAPA, which provide 21 meals a week without charge for people with life-threatening illnesses.

However, we just got word that my older brother (78) is in critical condition. He was hospitalized with ulcerative colitis, and C Diff for a couple of weeks.

He’s been very weak, and has lost 75 pounds. Some of that has been due to having teeth pulled in preparation for implants, but the colitis has caused some of it, and the weakness.

He’s been in assisted nursing for a week, and seemed to be making progress. He’s scheduled for an infusion of Entyvio, next week, but his wife is now concerned he may not be strong enough, if he survives to the scheduled date. I’d appreciate any prayers you can send along.

If we make it to our daughter’s on Saturday it might be harder, as she lives 100 miles way, and we’ve asked our grandson to meet us at the halfway point. She and I have a tenuous detente regarding vaccinations (or as I call it, Science)

Our other invite that weekend is under 5 miles from home, and includes among the guests a younger Trumpy couple (not yet 50) , but also my favorite nephew-in-law, an AP History high school teacher. I’ll be very happy to talk to him.

Have not ever attended a dinner where someone’s uncle dived across the table and through the gravy boat to try to grab someone else by the throat — true story from my daughter’s first husband about his family. Jesus, what barbarians — was so glad she divorced him 21 years ago.

I have no idea how to mourn a dead Republic. I've never had to do that before. But I can guarantee it won't be a happy holiday season and next year will be even more dismal.

It only goes downhill from here.
