Shit--This was what I was worried about regarding Kash Patel

Once Trump is sworn in, he's going to fire Christopher Wray as FBI Director--Wray was actually appointed by Trump after he fired Comey, but is viewed as insufficiently loyal by Trumpists by allowing investigations to continue against Trump and his circle.

Patel is a fringe ideologue and has vowed to seek retribution against people who are seen as disloyal to Trump. Him in charge of the FBI (under an AG Gaetz, no less) would be absolutely terrifying.

is predicting mass resignations. It might have been Zerlina Maxwell, but I'm not very certain if it was her, a guest or a caller. And they speculated these crazy cabinet picks are partly to repulse career civil servants into resigning.

But indeed this is terrifying. Actually, I thought Patel would end up heading the CIA.

I know morale will be down, but surrendering and leaving lots of vacancies to be filled by more Trump loyalists seems self-defeating.

career folks throughout the civil service that voluntarily leaving is preferable to being fired. The goal is to dismantle the bureaucracy so it can be rebuilt as an autocracy.

Patel is dangerous because he worships Trump and will do anything he wants, the legalities be damned. Even the corrupt Bill Barr refused to allow him in the DOJ.

Our civil servants forces and members in all agencies to stay put and persist against this hostile takeover.

They need to learn how to "sleep with the enemy."

Plenty of that has occurred over time. Just ask women and the entire AA population. They both have individuals in their ranks who have done so for many years to survive, for self preservation, for their children.

Quitters are going to be seen as cowards and will become unintended collaborators. It's tantamount to surrender. That's the last thing that we need.

If any group knows the value of counterintelligence tactics one would think that the FBI would one of those groups.
