(Article is from 2023. The the point is still valid. Money spent housing non-violent criminals in Rikers could be better spent in other ways that involve correction).

Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology is way cheaper than $500K per year. Pay for their tuition, room, board, books, and give them a brand new low end Audi motor car.
