My family and I are looking for Alternatives to Amazon this year.

Every time I think of buying from Amazon, my mind starts talking about "Bone Saw Bezos" and I just can't in good conscience use the service anymore. I needed some pint sized freezer containers that I always buy at Amazon, but I was delighted to find them for a reasonable price at Walmart--free shipping too! We've been compiling lists of retail alternatives to Amazon and are using the Giftster app this year instead of Amazon wish lists. Target, Walmart, Costco, and several other retailers offer free shipping just like Amazon. Here's an article in Rolling Stone for other alternatives:

Hope this helps.

I know e-commerce has done its best to quash local economies, but it's the best alternative when possible.

I know the identifiers: NFIB sticker; NRA stickers; excessive patriotica. Are there other identifiers?

you should be able to figure out what's local. Can't you check out your own local stores?

Target also gives support to both parties, as do most retailers.

Example, if I want certain shoes, I'll buy them from that company's website rather than finding them on Amazon, Zappos, Walmart, etc. (Or I'll visit their local store, if there is one.)

And often cheaper than on Amazon these days. Etsy is cool if you're looking for unique gifts.

I never had an account until the pandemic and want to get rid of it too.

And while Amazon has launched a number of initiatives to support small business owners, many shoppers still feel uneasy about supporting a site that’s become such a monopoly in the e-commerce space.

Prefer to support small businesses directly? Sites like Etsy let you shop directly from the makers and designers themselves. Redbubble.com is also another great marketplace for independent artists (with their pieces printed on everything from T-shirts to tablecloths).

What Are the Best Amazon Alternatives to Shop Online?
There are a number of good Amazon alternatives that you can support online. These online retailers offer a curated selection of goods that eliminate that overwhelming feeling of swiping through thousands of options. Eco-conscious and social justice-minded consumers will also be happy to know that many of these companies are B corporations, which means they must uphold a certain level of transparency and accountability, and abide by strict environmental and ethical standards.
