November 15, 2024
Elon Musk is starting to seriously annoy some in Donald Trumps inner circle.
Musk has been hanging around Mar-a-Lago ever since his million-dollar gamble to help Trump win the presidential election paid off last week. The billionaire technocrat seems to have no intention of taking a back seat in Trumps presidency, and its starting to piss off those in the presidents ranks, according to two people familiar with the Trump teams transition who spoke with NBC News earlier this week.
Hes behaving as if hes a co-president and making sure everyone knows it, one of the two people told NBC.
And hes sure taking lots of credit for the presidents victory. Bragging about America PAC and X to anyone who will listen. Hes trying to make President Trump feel indebted to him. And the president is indebted to no one, they added.

(122,890 posts)Eventually his spotlight-hogging will piss off Dear Leader, who does not like sharing the spotlight at all. I've known people like that - probably every workplace has a few - the person (usually a guy but not always) who sucks up to the boss while at the same time trying to boss the boss. They don't last long.

I believe the reason for this is pretty straightforward: it's not that we have a lot of transphobic DU members serving on Juries, it's just that many DU members aren't actually very familiar with what transphobia looks like. And if a Jury member can't see a problem with a post, then obviously they are unlikely to vote to remove that post.
So it is my hope that we can remedy this with a brief addition to the current "No bigotry/insensitivity" rule which explains what to look out for when serving on a Jury, and what to avoid when posting. The spirit and wording of the original rule have not changed -- we have added one new line asking members to take care when highlighting bigoted comments by public figures, and a short new paragraph containing DU's definition of transphobia.

(17,933 posts)I think Eloon is about to find out what TSF does when someone has fulfilled their purpose which in Eloons case was getting TSF elected. This could get interesting.

(2,693 posts)...some kind of return on his money, and with an investment that large, Eloon wants some serious vig! Unfortunately for him, Eloon's about to find out that helping Trump win an election entitles you to jack shit. All he needs to do is ask all the others who have been thrown under the bus already.

Sure would be a shame if #muskisrealpotus started trending and made its way into Trumps orbit. He might get kind of upset at the implications of #muskisrealpotus. No telling what #muskisrealpotus might cause Trump to do.

Musk might need to be more careful than he thinks he does. If this was a gangster movie Pesci might be driving him to a cornfield soon.

(582 posts)Trump doesn't have much to say about any of this, IMHO. Putin already has his team in place (Gorka, Miller, Bannon, Gabbard, Flynn)
Putin is OK with Trump having his boys (Patel, Kushner etc.) to do any kind of financial grifting, and that's all Trump really wants to do anyway.

(1,686 posts)Trump will have extraordinary powers to order problems to go away, per the Supreme Court.
Even last time I thought it interesting that Jeffrey Epstein skated along for decades until he was talking to a writer about his buddy trump, then he suddenly is arrested and expires in prison. Or Michael Cohen gets put back in prison and in solitary because he won't sign an NDA and is writing about Trump.
Trump never has to worry about an election again and who is going to stop him? Oh yea congress could impeach him.

Trump just realized that Musk is calling the shots from Putin and Putin reminded Trump who is boss when he posted those naked photos of Melania. Trump didn't say a word about that did he?

(1 post)Musk is doing exactly as you say. His kind of personalty is that he will never give up. He wants a big return for his Trump support.
With any kind of luck that will be one of downfalls that wipes out Trump's power at the mid-terms.

I can believe they are bothered by his arrogance - which is laughable since they aren't bothered by Trump's arrogance.
But until they are willing to speak out by name and openly push back, I don't believe anything said.
