How can we (the people) bring together those who didn't vote for Trump and those who may regret voting for him?

I'm thinking of a movement comprising of Democrats and anyone else who wants to protect their rights and the rights of others and to stand up for an America that is free and not sliding towards fascism.

I feel there must be a way to bring people together. It could be at minimum an information campaign and an online pledge to stand by five basic single--line principles that an overwhelming majority support that would show more people actually want to maintain the America we know rather than the Trump/project 2025 agenda.

I think it should be presented as non-political to reach beyond the Democratic Party. It isn't asking people to endorse Democrats, but it could be a possible launchpad for Democrats in 2026 and 2028. Do you think this could work and if so, how?

a better comparison which gave a red wave in 2010, but I think the fear of what Trump is doing could make this more effective than that.

A bridge (or other card) club, or yoga/tai chi etc?

Just like our forbears used to do it.

We can even compost with our neighbors in some California cities. Yes, it is possible to converse while composting.

You could also go the Ben Franklin route and create a club to improve society.

What we need are stronger community ties everywhere. The farther from politics the group appears, the less chance some thug will try to King George it to smithereens.

7. Thanks for the levity. There are tens of millions of concerned and worried people who need to be embraced somehow.

Think more along the lines of the Tea Party movement.

Our ancestors held amazing political conversations in bowling alleys and over a deck of cards. Quilting circles pushed women’s suffrage, abolition and temperance.

Ben Franklin held world changing conversations in pubs.

The tea party was an AstroTurf operation.

It will take a huge majority, like 90%, to make a noticeable difference in the national trajectory.

what it is, to know there are millions united in defending our freedoms. In some ways, this is what DU is. There are people who are scared, angry, and anxious. It's a way of knowing others feel the same and we are going to stand by basic principles.

All electronic comms must be assumed to be compromised (yes, even with VPNs). The dictatorship will have considerable resources at its disposal and dissent will become increasingly dangerous, forcing a more personal, physical approach which avoids social media as an organizing tool.
