TSF Immigration Raids

I keep reading from the half-ass news media that he will use the military to conduct raids while completely skipping over how this is legal given the Posse Comitatus Act. Am I missing something? Is declaring an "emergency" enough? Seems just saying it's an "emergency" is legally weak at best. Would expect that to be almost impossible to defend in court.

...and, eventually, SCOTUS will make the final decision. Need I say more?

because he's just going to say "this is an official act" and order it done while it is in the courts. SCOTUS kneecapped its own power to hold the presidency in check.

TSF is quite willing to abuse those powers and privileges to which his predecessors, whatever their various shortcomings, typically showed respect and restraint.

for 'official acts' which he and his cabal will decide what's official. Come Jan. 20th, 2025 he can round-up, deported, imprison or even have someone killed with impunity.

Everything changes in Jan. The nation won't be the same.

It is unequivocally the law and while TSF may be immune for certain "official acts" that does not make it legal for anyone else
Meaning the military carrying out an order like this is not immune. They would violating the law.

What happens if he tells the courts to sit and spin?

Absolutely nothing.

He could molest and snuff five hundred six month old baby boys in a row on 5th Avenue and gain popularity and power.

For what it's worth, we are all going to have a very...very...very, long 4 years. To have this level of cynicism as your starting point before he even takes office, is going to make it even harder.
Ease off the gas a little and take some deep breaths. We will all get through this together here on DU

Or, if alive, will be replaced by Vance when he is too far gone to prop up as the public face of MAGA. But his legacy will live on. Vance or another fascist will step forward in 2028, if there is an election then.

While I've never understood it, Trump has a crazy ability to make people buy his bullshit. Vance and the others do not have the cult of personality to pull off what he has done.
The while maga cult will go away when trump goes away. Just like the Tea Party. Just like the Whigs. And all the other flashes in the pan.
These things always seem permanent but they just are not.

My headspace is pretty bleak, nobody wants to be here.
