I haven't. I've never even known of one. So, are they common? I mean do people go to places where women are hired to have sex with the attendees?
What kind of deal is that? I guess Matt Gaetz is familiar with them. Maybe they're popular in his circles. How strange!
Anyhow, it seems to me as though people who attend such parties are not part of regular society. If they were, I'm sure I would have heard of at least one such party in my 79 years.
Is this normal? Is Matt Gaetz normal? Is that behavior acceptable by society?
Maybe I'm just naive or something. Out of touch.

I'll leave that to the conservatives.
If he slept with a minor or any of the contact was non-consensual, that's the only element that I think deserves public scrutiny.

Supplying minors with drugs and having sex with minors is not good.
There is a substantive difference.
That is what I perceive is under discussion.

The topic is Gaetz my friend...
The surrounding topic that the post is inquiring about is sex party participation from members of this forum.
So as to get the 'lay of the land'... so to speak.
Innocuous discussions of human sexuality are just a part of the discussion 'at hand'.

And though I hate to pigeonhole any particular group, there is a lot that looks like obnoxious frat boys at a state school in Florida or somewhere similar.

I'm (mostly) kidding. But it's not exactly a scandalous or unheard of thing in my world. I've been. They're interesting enough for what they are, if you're into that sort of thing. And there's always bathhouses. Not really into that sort of thing myself these days. Settled down into more of a partner, cats, and movie type sort. But I'm also middle aged now.
(Not that that matters. I have middle aged friends who are still doing that stuff)
Depends who one asks. And yes, I've known straight friends, men and women, talk about various gatherings they've attended.

(1,447 posts)There are many different types of sex parties.
You can go to SLS (swingers lifestyles) and find local orgies and such. We have only gone to social public gatherings from there. Meeting up in public.
The things we really have done are going on Bliss Cruises. They are swingers cruises. There are private sex parties in rooms. We have done those. One had a sex swing someone brought on board. Those were fun. From attending those, we were invited to a private house party up in Washington. I will get to that later.
On the cruise, they have one level full of cabanas. You can do whatever you want. You can have sexual relations by yourself or with a partner.... Or two or three....or more. You can close the curtains so things are private and off limits, but people can hear. You can leave curtains open and just have folks watch, or you can invite them or they can ask to join. They also have a dungeon on board. I have seen sex happen there. My partner and I are also kinky. We are probably not into what the average person is. We have cleared out whole parts of a room with some things we have done. But that is kink and not sex or swinging.
The cruise has one whole deck where you can females put in public. A lot of private room invitations happen in those areas.
There are nudists resorts where people also participate in the swinging lifestyle. There is a particular one we visited on Florida's west coast, on our way to a swinger's cruise. It was cool to be in a resort where you can be naked 24/7, as long as you were on resort grounds. The resort has hotel rooms for visitors, and they also have homes where people live year round. We picked up a guy in one of the pools. We also ran into a woman called dragonfly (I believe she has a website) who was on a Salinger's cruise. She is a relationship specialist. She gave presentations on the cruise and at the resort.
Then there are house parties. The one we attended in Washington was interesting. I know the guy holding it was in government, but not a senator or congressman. It was a swinger party but a fetish swinger party. It was for bigger women. Before the party ever started, I had a foursome with the host, his friend and my husband. Three guys can be a lot of fun!! I had a small bit of trouble at the party. The host set out rules that there was to be no touching without consent. A guy came up and slapped me on the butt. I went off on him. A woman in the middle of sex with someone else said he could slap her butt when she was done! Wow!!! Anyway, everyone else was fun and respectful.
The one thing I have not spoken of is drugs. The only drugs I saw used on the cruise were ed drugs. Guys walked around with 24/7 hard-ons. This does not mean folks did not use drugs, I just did not see it happen. Most of the folks on the cruises drank 24/7. That was a turn off for us. If you are drunk, you cannot consent.
I did not see anyone underage in any place we were.

I immediately ran upstairs and locked myself in the bedroom (no one was there as the coke was in a big bowl downstairs; I could never do it because of ADHD)...called my brother who came and got me. They want me to 'relax' and go with it...no f'ing way and that was during aids too.
