With any luck, he won't be confirmed. And - major changes to Medicare/Medicaid have to go through Congress - and Medicare, at least, is very popular.

Unfortunately, there are so many awful choices the relatively sane Republicans will have to carefully choose the worst of the worst to take a stand on. Gaetz is more outrageous - but would do less damage the vast majority of Americans who aren't being prosecuted by the US government - RFK Jr is a more respectable choice - but could do more damage. If I had to choose to oppose one of these nominations, I'm not sure which one I'd choose.
