I saw this in the LA Times this morning. It's not that the Democrats are out of touch. It's that half of this country has completely lost it's fucking minds. It is going to be a literal kakistocracy. RFK Jr and Dr. Oz in charge of public health? Linda McMahon in charge of education? Putting Trump branded Bibles in public schools? WTF.
Stephen Colbert is right - this is the government of, by, and for people who have replaced television and social media with reality.

Who is in touch, Elon Musk or Tim Walz?
They're literally planning to cut every government program that helps non-billionaires. But don't worry they also pretend to watch UFC.

(101,900 posts)It's totally crazy that they're planning to destroy the United States from within and the Democrats are playing with kid gloves. I said yesterday we're bringing a kitchen knife to a machine gun battle. We need to step up our game.

(4,293 posts)It's not any shortcomings in DEM communication. It's partly media consolidation by the very rich and the fact that a huge part of the population is willfully ignorant, bigoted, and got damned delusional.
Just an observation.

(34 posts)...and the policies and issues Kamala talked about reflect that. She should not have had to be perfect 100 percent of the time in explaining her proposals. I think this election showed Dems cannot depend on mainstream media to accurately convey their ideas. Moving to newer media, including podcasts, I think is very important. They are real competition for the eyes and ears of citizens. Using that competition more may give more traditional media pause to consider and change enough to be more relevant.
