Mexico's Engagement with China and Choices for Its Future
This is the title to an article date 08/11/23 in the magazine "Dialogo-Americas" which is a publication of the US Southern Command. It is a very good concise read of several major aspects that the incoming dolts like Hegseth and Homan would do well to consider but undoubtedly won't because bigotry blinds one to learning. But we at DU are open to information and can learn facts to help us consider some of the reality of Mexico today regarding their relationship with China and why the US being belligerent towards Mexico and possibly embarking on trying to "dump" deportees on an unwilling Mexico may drive them further into the arms of China.
The article covers economics, crime, Chinese organized crime operating in Mexico, security etc. It is quite well done and is the kind of thing that would be good and informative for traditional US media to pick up. Sadly it is not palatable for the "dumbed down" who have an image of Mexico in their mind that doesn't even exist but it fits their bigoted feelings.
While the article does note that the US/Mexico security agreement is strong it does point out that there is activity of cooperation and training of Mexican military personnel in China with the PLA. Here is a quote from the article:
"Mexicos Army and Navy have periodically visited and received delegations from their counterparts in the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA), and limited numbers of Mexican military personnel have gone to the PRC for professional military education and training courses, including several to whom the author has personally spoken."
Another two lines in that section about Security are very simple and could be read too quickly and one might miss a key word and fail to consider what it really is saying. That line is:
"Nonetheless, the Mexican military has not publicly purchased Chinese weapons systems or received significant donations of Chinese military equipment. Nor have the two countries publicly signed defense cooperation agreements."
Did you catch it? That word is "publicly". A qualifier that doesn't mean the referenced thing hasn't happened privately. Happy reading. I guess we can probably take the information and be better informed as we swirl the drain with Hegseth and Homan in a small, leaky rowboat flailing around, barking bigotry at everyone and backstabbing orders at each other while they shoot holes in the bottom thinking they're letting the water out.
