Interview with a Trumper

A couple of days ago, I got a call from my grandson (the Trumper) who said he need to talk to me. I was not home so I called him when I returned. He came over a little later. He needed a substantial loan to get his car out of the repair shop; his share of the insurance job.
I finally decided to cooperate, dialog follows:
Me: Well, I guess I can pony up the cash, but, You KNOW you're going to have to take some shit.
Grandson" Yeah, I figured I would"
The first thing I want to know is, Wouldn't Trump answer your call? I thought he was gonna fix it.
Grandson: Silence accompanied by sappy grin
Me: How is it that you support Trump, but still knew that when an ordinary working man needs some help, his best shot is to find a Democrat?
Grandson:" More silence. Grin somewhat diminished."

Explanatory note.
Just wanted to make it clear that I used much more colorful appellations when referring to TSF.

1. You're the grandparent - so I can kind of understand.

But I would not have done it.

Kind of wondering, what was the message he received from you?

Maybe, not the same as you intended to convey to him.

Best of luck.

But I'm sure it felt good for her to vent. It's a matter of balancing out the pros and cons.

They are never made to suffer consequences of their actions. Now we have a whole nation of victims.

History, definition, explanation, reality...you name it...appear to be powerless against cultism. However, humiliation will have to be his portion until that incandescent globe floating over his head starts to glow a little more brightly (bigly?). He does have two young daughters, and it is the season, you know.

Would have told him to ride public transportation or beg friends for rides.

IMO the kid got off lightly.

and they both knew that, it might as well come with a dose of reality.
Car troubles are terrible. They are how people end up homeless. Lose the car, can’t get to work, and down the hill the snowball goes. So it would be hard not to help with that if you could. It’s not a DUI.
But still…..I wonder how many of the people working on his car are immigrants, and if he even notices their existence at all.
