"SNIP.............
Podcaster Joe Rogan said he publicly endorsed Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election because he strongly opposed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, branding the Democratic vice presidential nominee a liar,' The Independent reports.
Rogan said he had no intention of weighing in on politics because its gross, but felt compelled to after news reports emerged revealing Walz had lied about spending time in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square Protests and made confusing statements about his military record.

Trump's you come to me charisma lures people's brain to merge with his so people cannot see the big picture. You have to get out of your own mind to see the big picture and be more objective. But people stuck in Trump brain frequency doesn't stop Rogan from getting them to look at Tim Walz from on high and judge him for two or three exaggerations over a full lifetime when Trump lies all the time. Rogan is teaching Americans to do it. It is like the two men are in two separate worlds in peoples' minds. Trump lied about everything. Walz is being scapegoated as the liar in this election year.

(10,180 posts)Its NOT "why" Joe Rogan did whatever he did...
The problem is why do people CARE what a middling stand-up comic and former fighter thinks in the first place.
The slavish devotion to asking "why" but getting the wrong question first IS THE ISSUE.
Rogan is never going to tell a tale that is remotely true. He makes his living off of sensationalist nonsense and a dude-bro persona that many mistake for authentic masculinity in an age of nonsense like the bandying about of "woke" as a catch all and the same old BS about why democrats are too effete and republicans are the 'alpha dogs' and real manly men. It is BS, but what else do people think falls out of that filthy hole under Rogan's nose? Wisdom? Truth? Insights?

(49,197 posts)If you're confused by something someone said or wrote, then you don't call them a "liar" because you're confused. IOW, you don't know what's true yet.
You can get away with "I don't know the whole story," or "I need more information".
Or maybe you DON'T WANT TO KNOW but you want to hang an insult on someone.
But liar? That's seventh grade restroom talk. It's speculation without evidence.

(800 posts)I mean really. Until we can answer that question and develop successful methods to combat the influence of self-promoting hacks like him (and indeed, to destroy them in the pubic eye), things are only going to get worse.

(800 posts)If the anti-fascist movement is to make any gains in coming years, people like Rogan need to be so badly discredited that they can never dig themselves out. An arrogant prick like him will have plenty of skeletons laying around, and it is a matter of gathering them and using them. He especially needs to be made to look bad to the sort of people who make up his audience. Targeted character assassination, if you will, which fascists are really good at but we are not. Yet. And FFS, do not rely on the "justice" system.

(1,069 posts)The fascist priest had a large following. Youre correct, Rogan needs to be exposed as the fraud he is to dismantle his popularity and influence.

(3,080 posts)He started denouncing Roosevelt when he thought the New Deal wasn't going far enough. (And yeah, he was an isolationist, preferring to focus on problems at home, but I don't think one can call him a "fascist".)

(102,693 posts)Everyone knows that's a bullshit excuse. Anyone non-comatose knows that Trump lies a hundred times more than Walz, or Harris. Probably 10 times more than Vance.
Rogan was just looking for a way to retain some Democratic-voting viewers/listeners.

(22,243 posts)He voted for Trump because Joe is as big a racist and misogynist as Trump. Period.
Clearly no one intelligent thinks Trump is honest. No one. People like that Trump lies about everything, but his racism and sexism.
MadameButterfly
(1,953 posts)against someone for lying. Then voting for the guy who holds the record for lying.
Republicans used to be upset with Obama for lying. Now Tuberville thinks the problem with Biden isn't that he pardoned his son, but that he lied about it. This is just what they say when they don't have anything else. And they don't have anything else.
And they're too stupid or shameless to be embarrassed by the irony.

(9,336 posts)Hes a lot of things but racist is not one. He hangs with black comedians who talk of how Joe has helped them. Also, he adopted his black daughter.
