Traitor and his minions have promised that and I believe them

(299 posts)Do a pardon for everybody Trump, Patel or any of the other fascists have ever mentioned for retribution. If that is 1000 pardons, so much the better. That will illustrate what a threat these fascists are.

(30,233 posts)we should all register.
I think a blanket pardon for any social media posts, protest, speech, etc.
If you think they won't come for us... don't register.
Paranoid, maybe, but I am a student of history. Everyone that works for MSNBC and CNN and Free speech TV and dozens of podcasters... they ALL need presidential pardons.
Lots of people that work in various agencies and departments... and even State workers and elected officials.
All of our Senators and Congresspersons and former government officials

(32 posts)They want blanket pardons and they have and intend to do more actual crimes.
I totally get the impulse to protect, and maybe this is the way. The first time I heard the idea I thought it was a good one. But now I'm concerned all maga actual traitors and criminals will just get their own preemptive pardons also

(7,078 posts)That should be prosecuted because they stole the election.
Cover them or let them hang? (Full disclosure, Im one of them)
Justice matters.
(7,592 posts)Not even sure their potential Pardon will even matter to the convicted felon's fascists.

(7,078 posts)But I dont see any other possible way to protect folks who were just doing their jobs like Fauci.
Traitor is a malignant narcissist whose entire life revolves around grievance and revenge. His cruelty feeds his black soul.
Nobody will escape his vengeance if it can be done. Minions like Kash Patel would an eager and vicious thug dispensing the pain forever

(30,233 posts)It is a pardon covering speech and other writings and utterances, whether given freely on a website or podcast or in public or private. Not actions that are subject to criminal charges.
I am not afraid of being found guilty if I was criminally charged or even investigated for what I post here. However that isn't the point... the point is that I would have to pay a criminal defense lawyer to mount the defense ( either criminal or civil ). I don't happen to have $50K laying around to spend on this. These people hate us... and they will have the resources of the federal government to use to sue us into bankruptcy. And if you think they won't do it with Kash Patel at the FBI...

(7,611 posts)I've been pushing this idea on Facebook and Kos and here and planned push it everywhere I could . Biden could thwart Trump's entire Fascist retribution plot. DO IT!!!!!!

(18,925 posts)I'm skeptical about them coming after every rando who's ever posted something critical of TSF on a message board (like yours truly), just because of the sheer volume. Somebody would have to go through millions of posts to find all of us "culprits," and identifying every person who posts under an anonymous screen name at places like DU would be another gargantuan chore. I guess it would be doable, in theory, but why bother?
So I'm not seriously worried for myself, but there are people like the ones mentioned in that X post who will be in serious danger, and I am all for protecting them.

(744 posts)Finally, let's use some ammo before we have none.
I swear, it's like trumpers lack the ability to recognize that they are voting against their own self interests... And dem leaders lack the ability to recognize when they actually yield the power to protect everyones interests.
I mean, really. How did we not put trump behind bars. Hell, how did we not get guys like Jordan and Goetz TF outta here.

(15,584 posts)I dont know about anyone else, but as a member of the scientific community (albeit a piddling and crummy one) I would consider it outrageous if Dr Fauci was targeted. He was just doing a difficult job. Science and public health are hard. An unprecedented pandemic..I mean come on..
https://www.politifact.com/article/2022/feb/24/fauci-lied-how-broad-misunderstanding-about-scienc/
It is a perspective informed in part by frustration. Changing guidelines impact peoples daily lives. But the claims ignore the realities and challenges presented by a global pandemic caused by an emerging virus, researchers and science experts told us.
Scientists and doctors are worn down by the narrative.
"These kinds of charges are frustrating," said Sarah Richardson, a science historian at Harvard University. "They reflect a misunderstanding of how science works, how public health policy is created, and how empirical science and public health policy relate to one another."
Scientific findings are often confusing and conflicting. But evolving research and changing guidelines arent unprecedented or shocking, nor are they indicative of something nefarious.
"I can hardly blame people for feeling confused, but the problem is how this has been used politically," said Dr. Lynn Goldman, dean of the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. "I think there has been a deliberate effort to take advantage of that kind of confusion by accusing people of purposely misleading the public and there is no way that that has been happening its not reality."
Science is hard, frustrating and takes a long time.
