He was appalled at the uses to which he saw it being used, particularly during the Reign of Terror, and bitterly regretted having invented it. And probably even more bitterly regretted that his name was all over it.

It came to this because for decades people have meekly accepted their fate. When Obama wanted to sort of fix this (not really since the problem was never fixed, just more people got the opportunity to experience it) he was (and still is) vilified for it.

Of the 400+ MILLION guns in circulation, there are far more in the hands of RWNJs than LWNJs. Bannon and his fellow Nazis welcome this civil war because they believe they can win it. Meanwhile we point to documents and ethics texts, as if those things mean anything to the Nazis.

And with all this happening, the media is 100% fixated, as always, on Hunter Biden.

I thought most Americans had turned into sleepwalking zombies and could never agree about anything.

It is a HORRIBLE company, even by for-profit insurance company standards. It's so bad that some of the state's medical institutions and hospitals have refused to renew their contracts with UH. UH executives, including, of course, the murdered CEO, have made millions off of the suffering of those denied needed and/or lifesaving care. I'm not dancing on his grave or rejoicing in his murder, but I will say that you reap what you sow and I'm not shedding any tears for him. For his wife and family, perhaps, but not him.

He knew this guy’s schedule while he was at an out of town conference, caught him on the street, alone, very early in the morning as he moved from one hotel to another venue across the street, had an e-bike waiting, up an adjacent alley/walkway, went straight to Central Park and disappeared.
A stop at Starbucks seems also part of the plan. They say he bought several items. No mention of coffee. Maybe a bottled water and something to eat that was portable as he knew he’d be moving for a while. Surely that backpack would hold those items, as well as a change of clothes.

Especially in The Ramble. He could have hidden a change of clothes there, too, with a slighter bigger backpack he could put the grey on in. If he had a car parked on the edge of CP, that's it. He could be almost halfway across the country by now.

He knew what he was doing.

The "free market" where people get screwed and then retaliate by killing the CEO isn't the right correction mechanism for this issue. The government has to step up and regulate properly.

Instead of excusing the murderer by saying the CEO "got what he deserved", we should double down on fixing healthcare in this country. Obamacare was a great first step. We have to let Bernie and AOC go to the mat for us on universal health care, and support them. Hard.

If it's true, then this crime pretty much falls under the definition of terrorism. This would change the approach law enforcement uses to access evidence and investigate the incident. It could also drive the involvement of federal authorities and give lawmakers an excuse to pass more laws that would hamstring even more speech and political activity.

Regardless of how we feel about health insurance companies, nothing good will come of this.

If you include a Federal component, your crime(s) qualify you for Federal prison. If you're caught.

had an episode of a fucking claims adjuster being shot like this. turns out he denied "experimental" cancer treatment for the guy's daughter. JUSTICE. NOT GUILTY...defense of others!

The shooter was wrong for killing him. But I can’t say he didn’t get what he deserved.

When Shinzo Abe, the exPM of Japan, was assassinated in 2023, the public outrage, outcry, shock and disbelief in Japan was unprecedented.

Soon, however, evidence was shown that Abe was associated, mainly by receiving money donations, with the South Korean Unification church cult (Moonies to most Americans), and other Liberal Democratic Party conservatives were as well, along with many other politicians. This and other money scandals are still rocking Japan's government.

The assassin was a young man whose life had been virtual destroyed by his mother's contributions of the family's money to the cult. He, possibly mistakenly, blamed Abe and his policies for his family's plight.

Suddenly sympathies were turned or at least less outraged.

When a such a person is murdered many people realize the two side of justice. It is unfortunate that he was murdered but his own actions possibly set the killer into action. Accountability in the U.S. is becoming less and less for the rich and more and more for the poor.

Further such actions may occur. Will this lead to martial law and a police state we're already worried is coming with the trump crowd? Let's hope not.
