When he says "eliminate daylight savings", I am sure that he means eliminate changing the clocks - not necessarily eliminating daylight savings as most people favor going to it full time. I am sure he couldn't tell you which one is an hour earlier or later between daylight savings and standard time.

Recent polls have shown 60% in favor of eliminating the time change and only 20% in favor of keeping it. He just wants this to claim that he fixed a problem that no one else could possibly have done and gain favor by doing so.

It will become the prime example of his accomplishments, part of his legacy. People will hear about it ad nauseum for the rest of his pathetic life.
