Last somewhat sane man to exit Fox News

Anchor Neil Cavuto is leaving Fox News after almost three decades at the right-wing media outlet. Thursday will mark Cavuto’s final appearance at the helm of his "Your World” show.

Cavuto’s contract with Fox expires at the end of December.

“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media,” the network wrote in a statement. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

Cavuto has been one of the only Fox News hosts willing to at least mildly criticize Donald Trump. Cavutos has even promoted a few facts amid his network’s otherwise unrelenting spew of misinformation.

Before joining Fox, Cavuto was a principal anchor and reporter for CNBC. He co-anchored CNBC's initial broadcast on April 17, 1989. He hosted Power Lunch on CNBC, contributed to NBC's Today, and worked with the Public Broadcasting Service for 15 years reporting for Nightly Business Report. He was also a New York City bureau chief.

...for attacking the Trump regime when it came to its absolutely disastrous and utterly incompetent handling of the Covid pandemic.

"...[Cavuto] has MS severe enough that he sometimes requires a wheelchair, and he has suffered from a couple other health problems as well. Trump's utterly moronic mishandling of Covid--and especially the way he and his followers turned a public health emergency into a culture-war battle--really enraged Cavuto.

I recall that Cavuto went on his program during the pandemic to denounce Trump's negligence. He ended up getting Covid pneumonia, largely because of immune-suppressing MS drugs, and he credits the vaccine with saving his life. In return, Trump's fans sent Cavuto numerous death threats.
