Fox Host Blames Trump, Musk for Possible Government Shutdown

https://www.yahoo.com/news/fox-host-blames-trump-musk-182652234.html

As a government shutdown looms to its final hours, even Fox hosts are starting the blame game.

Brit Hume, Fox News' chief political analyst, took to X on Friday to stand up for Speaker Mike Johnson after two unsuccessful spending bills. Instead, he pointed fingers at billionaire Elon Musk and President-elect Donald Trump.

“Speaker Johnson is getting the blame for the failure of the bills to keep the government open,” Hume wrote on Friday, just hours before the shutdown. “But how about the team of Trump, Musk & Co? They shot down the first bill. Too full of pork, they said.”

Musk and Trump both attacked the first proposed bipartisan bill earlier this week. After Republican leaders faced immense backlash from both billionaires for the first, a second short-term bill to avoid shutdown was introduced, and was rejected by the House on Thursday, 174-235.
