(368 posts)there being differences between the American and European political spectrums overall. Historically, they aren't the same. That said, there has been a notable radicalization and normalization of populist RW politics worldwide for the last decade.
That everyone's losing their fucking marbles and going fascist right now is irrelevant to the fact that what's considered "progressive/extreme" by centrists and conservatives in the US is mainstream among the European left, and has been for quite some time.

(6,378 posts)They'll repeatedly dismiss even the most commonsense, moderate policies as "far left". It is indeed part of their bag of propaganda tricks.

(29,047 posts)Holding the SCOTUS accountable.
The urgent need to hold Trump, President Muskrat, all the traitorous J6ers, MAGA, and delusional Christian Nationalists accountable goes without saying.

As a union heavy equipment operator, I had to take drug tests on a random basis and once a month to show that I was capable of driving the equipment. I'd like to see the police doing mandatory drug tests at least monthly. Steroids, amphetamines, and cocaine.

(3,853 posts)Should have to take drug tests. Impairment testing tests for all type of impairment, alcohol, drugs, too sick and not enough sleep.
Impairment testing has the potential to protect workplace safety far better than drug testing because it indicates:
a persons condition at the time they are working, not at some point in the indeterminate past.
impairment from all sources, not only from illegal drugs.
Impairment testing also appears to be less invasive of employees privacy because it:
is not physically intrusive.
does not disclose information about an employees private life.
Moreover, these benefits come at no additional cost. Urine testing requires no initial investment, but there is a charge for each individual test. Impairment testing requires an initial investment in hardware and software. The variable cost per test, however, is virtually nothing. For a very small company, impairment testing might be more expensive. But for a company of any significant size (greater than 100 employees) the money saved by eliminating the cost per test generally exceeds the cost of the initial investment, making impairment testing less expensive than urine testing.

(18 posts)Good time as any to start the impeachment process. Love to watch this guy Trump spin out completely. The so called left needs to bring it now and from now on , don't take foot off the pedal. The world is in crisis leadership is needed. The world right wing nazis are licking their chops. The priorities have been pointed out, don't want to go down any one rabbit hole. Sane people should know by now that drastic times require drastic measures, get creative ,
so before the Jan. 6th turn everything over to the oligarchs bash lets get crazy smart, change history for the good of all peoples. In Solidarity Gary De.
