"SNIP...............
Paul Krugman: Like many observers, I expected severe buyers regret fairly early in the second Trump administration. After all, many Americans who voted for Trump did so because they believed he would bring down grocery prices. He was never going to be able to deliver on that promise and stopped talking about the subject as soon as the election was over; sooner or later, voters were going to notice.
I did not, however, expect a MAGA civil war weeks before Trump had even taken office. But in retrospect I should have seen it coming.
.................SNIP"

(2,281 posts)Such is the ignorance and stupidity of the voters.
Presidents have no control over the price of groceries.

(570 posts)I say let them nibble away. It should be fun watching his party self destruct BEFORE the POS even start his job.
Wait til the magats find out what's really going on. All the lies. Deceit. This is going to be quite a clusterf**k.

(967 posts)More a dust up. When Trump agreed w/ Musk about H1Bs half the maggots agreed w/ Trump reversing their stance. That's how a cult works. We forget the nature of this cult at our peril.

If we want to lead the world in scientists and engineers we need to start teaching the proper curriculum in our public schools.
I took electives in high school in the seventies, art, wood shop, auto shop, drafting, schematics and electronics. I name those courses because those are the ones I use everyday!
I was lucky they were offered.

Bank meltdowns, that the US was taking their brightest people, who normally have become engineers, and got them into finance where they were taking money from the middle class through financial world reforms. Elizabeth Warren changed some of the laws back and created new regulations, Bill Clinton had undone them, and now Trump is going to undo them again. The risk will then be put back onto the public.

(1,001 posts)Although I remember being jammed into HomeEc which is cooking, sewing and cleaning preparation. Girls were not allowed in woodworking or other shop classes. The sexist part of it was absurd.

(56,942 posts)Even though Trumpers are predictably turning on themselves like the reptilian scumbags they are, it has to be said that they STILL had enough common sense to keep things together, stay on message and stay unified long enough to win the election... Now, it doesn't even matter that they're all going crazy and Donnie is quickly walking back all his loudest campaign promises. I'd steamroll my own grandma to see that level of unity and focus from Dems just once 😔
