One reason I so respected Jimmy Carter ...

... was that he was the ONLY MAN and the only person who defined himself as a Christian that I EVER heard say things like quote below. Is the subjugation and human devaluation of women from 'God' or men? I think it is from men, and JC had the spine to SAY it.

(The alleviation of women's abuse) "is made less likely by the mandated subservience of women by Christian fundamentalists. What is especially disappointing...is the docile acceptance by so many strong Christian women of their subjugation & restricted role."
- Jimmy Carter (RIP)
-From his book "Our Endangered Values - America's Moral Crisis"

Another Jimmy Carter quote about women & girls:

I have become convinced that the most serious and unaddressed worldwide challenge is the deprivation and abuse of women and girls, largely caused by a false interpretation of carefully selected religious texts and a growing tolerance of violence and warfare, unfortunately following the example set during my lifetime by the United States. — From 2014 book “A Call to Action.”

AND...

“As its most repugnant, the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities...”

"The abuse of women and girls is the most pervasive and unaddressed human rights violation on Earth."
-From “A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, & Power” by Jimmy Carter, 2014

Due to their treatment of women. Wasn’t his sister a SBC minister? Back before they went back to caveman values (no offense to cavemen).

He left the SBC because of the lack of diversity and racism/sexism.

His morals and his heart were always in the right place.

He may be the last person in our lifetimes who had their head screwed on straight and one of the last decent Presidents (along with Clinton, Obama, Biden).

Now, we seem to be only able to elect rapacious conmen, oligarchs, and felons who are above the law and openly corrupt. And why not? There are no repercussions or accountability for it.

were his honesty, integrity, and humanity.
He was always a kind, generous, loving man...a true Christian; the very definition of what it meant to be a follower of the teachings of Jesus.

I'm an atheist but JC is a common abbreviation for the good guy JC patterned his life after.

just a little rhyme of nature.

who was mercilessly slandered by pre-magats.

Also, the same goes for Roslyn.

I see a confluence of his death and the rise of the SLUBBERDEGULLION as the next resident, as the ending of The Carter Era.

May the goddess of all good things have mercy on our souls!

If I believed in the Bible myths, I would say that President Carter as the second coming of Jesus Christ, and that the felonator as the Antichrist.

The mainstream media even back then was owned by the plutocrats and lovers of money.

we're very privileged to be around during his Presidency and the way he lived his life after leaving the Presidency.
There are SO MANY parallels between Mr. Carter and Jesus! Especially how so many powerful and corrupt forces aligned against them both!!!!

They nearly succeeded in eliminating guinea worm and have made lots of progress on others like river blindness (also a parasitic infection).

The guinea worm eradication project focused on giving poor people access to clean water (this would actually help with a lot of infections and conditions).

A lot of Christians in this country don't actually care about poor people anywhere. He was the real deal.
