Today, 5 days after Christmas, I walked into

Gen Dollar and first thing I saw was a big display of VALENTINE MERCHANDISE!!
To me it was sad--stores pushing Valentines already.
Anyway, I am home now enjoy my Christmas tree.
#HappyNewYear to all.

"future oriented" (as well as "instant gratification" oriented, but that can wait for another thread) and therefore people have difficulty, as a rule, in being able to live in and appreciate the "present moment".
So for now, I hope everyone in the DU family had a wonderful Yule and best wishes for a Happy New Year.

The amount of money people fork out from Halloween through Easter is staggering. The question is, WHY?

We stopped in Amarillo for the night. I went to fetch my coat and realized that I had forgotten it.

So, we stopped at Walmart to buy a winter coat. Coats were already on clearance. I got the absolute best deal: $10 for a super comfy, hot pink bubble jacket! It even has a hood. (The hood is windbreaker quality, however) I love that jacket!

I'm glad I left my other jacket at home. Best mistake of my life.
My other jacket isn't much more than a stylish fleece lined windbreaker. It would not have withstood the Colorado cold.

And when we had that big freeze with no electricity 2021, I slept in my Walmart bubble jacket. I love that $10 thing!

I just saw v day merchandise today also. Halloween starts in July and August now. Thanksgiving starts around September. And then it’s Christmas already on thanks giving or before. I don’t know I may be mixing it all up. 😹 Then it’s Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day will be on the way soon in January.

After that, you have Memorial Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and Fourth of July…so really Halloween starts right after Fourth of July, here anyway. 😹
